Competition Saturday 04/02/12 Program A:

 

Normal competition resumes this Saturday with Program A. This will be the last opportunity to enter for Centre Championships. Forms are in the handbook but we should have some spare at the desk. To be eligible, athletes must have competed in at least half of the programs. This does not include Centre Relay Champs or Centre Multi Champs. This means athletes need compete in 8 regular programs to enter. Any further queries, please refer to our Team manager, Leo Dodgson. See you all on Saturday.

 

Also, a BIG congratulations to some of our athletes that competed at the State Relay Championships last weekend. Some even came away with a medal or 2. Great effort.

Just a reminder to everyone that there will be no competition next weekend due to State Relays. Good luck to all our WULAC athletes competing.

Hope everybody has had a fantastic break over the Christmas Holidays and had a safe and festive New Year.

This weekend sees us back into the swing of things. Hope to see all our athletes back, reved and recharged for the finish of the summer season.

Centre Relays this Saturday 22-10-11:

 

Hopefully we will have a great day weatherwise for our Centre relay's this Saturday. Good luck to all of our teams. Medals are up for grabs, so do your best, arrive early to marshal at 8:15am and have a fantastic day.

May be a wet Saturday:

Hi all,

It is looking like it may be a little wet tomorrow. The DVLAC committee will make a decision tomorrow morning at 8am as to whether there will be any competition. In the event of light rain, they may run a wet weather program. 

If the competition day is cancelled, we will post it on this website ASAP after 8am. Otherwise, see you all there. Go Cats!

First Program for the season:

 

Saturday will see the start of our Summer Track & Field season. I would like to wish every athlete a fun and successful season with lots of PB's and smiles ☺☺☺

 

There is a program in our programs section of this web site and is to be used as a rough guide only.

 

Reminder that the U11's & U12's have a walk 1500m Walk starting at 8am. Athletes must be at 1500m start line (near bus shelter) 15min before event starts.

 

 

Registration & Come'n'Try Days are done and dusted:

 

We had a fantastic turn out for our registration and Come'n'Try sessions, with lots and lots of new faces joining our club.

For those that missed these days, don't worry, it is never to late to register. Just see us early (8'ish) at our desk on any competition day to complete your rego forms. Don't forget to bring your child's proof of age for us to sight.

 

Flat Out Athletics Clinic Thur. 6th Oct. (Under5 - 12 year olds)

 

Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park

Want to be amongst the first to have a run, jump or throw at the new home of Athletics? Everyone of all abilities aged from 5 to 12 are welcome this school holidays for some flat out fun. Take part in activities that will help you learn new skills and meet new friends.

Just like an Olympian you will get to speed down the track as fast as you can or launch yourself into the air and touch the sky.

Welcome Athletes & Families to Watsonia United LAC for Season 2010/11

 

The WULAC Committee has had a lovely rest over the winter but it's time to get ready for the coming summer season.

At  the DVLAC AGM,  Watsonia United won the Edney-Macrae Trophy . The DVLAC committee have made more improvements to the program, including adding Javelin for the U11's & 12's. U7 on-trackers will have more track time with a single event each week before Christmas and 2 events after Christmas. As well as the opportunity to compete at centre championships i.e. go for medals. &&&

Electronic recording of results will be extended to most track events this season and DVLAC are moving to a complete electronic results system.

Watsonia United Registration fees

 

$130  for 1 child

$250  for 2 children

$330  for three children 

Needs to be paid before children can be registered 

*Registration also covers Cross Country season                

Weekly fee including On Trackers

Please pay this fee each week at our table.

 

There has been a minor increase in registration fees from LAVic & DVLAC that we have had to pass on.

 

TRAINING: Our Training night for U8 – U16 is on Mondays from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at Willinda Park (we train with the Eltham and Bundoora Clubs). All U8-16 members are invited to come along to training each week. The first session will be on Monday 10th October. There is also Centre based training sessions for the older age groups (U12-U16) during the season on a Wednesday night.

 

FUNDRAISING: Our fundraiser day at Diamond Valley is on Saturday 3rd December. More information will be available closer to the dates. We will also be trying to get a Bunning's BBQ for a Sunday some time throughout the season. Having these fundraisers allows us to keep our fees to a minimum and is used for end of year trophies for all children and presentation night.  

 

RE-REGISTRATION: The re-registration form will be posted out.  Please write any changes on the form especially email addresses and phone numbers

 

You can re-register with Watsonia United LAC  on any of the following day:.

  • Saturday 10th September - includes Come and Try sessions at Willinda Park

  • Saturday 17th September - includes Come and Try sessions at Willinda Park

  • Times: 9am to 11.00am -   both days

If you cannot make the Registration Days, please send the enclosed re-registration form and cheque (made payable to Watsonia United LAC)  to the K. Rouch. 143 Lower Heidelberg Rd. Ivanhoe. 3079 before the 16th of September. Or you can pay by the internet but we will still need the registration forms (please print out receipt and attach to forms)
